Rodney Fernandez incorporated the Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) in 2001 as an independent 501(c)3 to fulfill his broad vision of strengthening and sustaining prosperous communities through homebuyer education, pre-purchase counseling, financial coaching, financing mortgage loans, and post-homeownership counseling services.
Since 2001, VCCDC has originated an impressive number of mortgage loans, helped families enhance their credit scores and their standards of living, and contributed to improved economic conditions throughout the communities we serve. We have made measurable impacts on neighborhood revitalization by rehabilitating distressed housing and making that refurbished inventory available to families in need.
VCCDC is proud to share that we were recently re-certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of Treasury. As an adopter of the National Industry Standards, VCCDC serves the community with high levels of home ownership, foreclosure prevention, and lending services.
We are excited about our continuing growth and expanding ability to help Ventura County families find a new way home.
