Congratulations to the CASH Financial Coaching Program 2014 Graduates!
On March 20, 2014 Ventura County Community Development Corporation celebrated the graduation of 15 of its CASH participants. The Creating A Stable Home (CASH) financial coaching program combines financial education and coaching to help individuals reduce debt, increase savings, and improve credit scores. The twelve month CASH curriculum is designed to assist individuals establish healthy financial behaviors by working with a trained Financial Coach who assists them in setting goals, creating and following an action plan, and providing the tools necessary for the participants to meet their desired financial goal. The Financial Coach not only provides the tools necessary for participants to meet their goals but also provides the much needed accountability and support to help participants stay on track and stay motivated. These graduates worked hard to accomplish their financial goals despite the many obstacles that life tossed at them and we truly admire their perseverance and hard work! Some of the highlights for this year’s graduating class were:
- As a whole, the class was able to reduce their debt by $34,682.00! That is an average debt reduction of more than $2,300 per graduate in the short span of 12 months.
- During the course of the 12 month program the class was able to save $16,354.00 as a whole! This is a huge accomplishment as the program only requires participants to save $50/month or $600/year so this class was very motivated and went beyond what was required, saving an average of $1,090 per participant!
- 72% increased one or more of their FICO scores, with the highest increase going from not having a FICO score to a score of 690!
Equipped with the proper education, tools, and motivation from their CASH Financial Coach, Gabriela Santana, our graduates were able to go above & beyond what they thought they were capable of doing.
Congratulations again 2014 CASH graduates! We are so proud of you and we wish you the best!
