Ventura County Community Development Corporation has been recently approved counseling agency for the Keep Your Home California (KYHC) program. Keep Your Home California is a free service for homeowners who have suffered a financial hardship, to help them stay in their homes, maintain an affordable mortgage payment and avoid foreclosure. The four assistance programs that fall under KYHC are: the Unemployment Mortgage Assistance (UMA) provides mortgage assistance of up to $3,000 per month to qualified unemployed borrowers, the Mortgage Reinstatement Assistance Program (MRAP) provides funding of up to $25,000 to help qualified homeowners catch up on their mortgage payments, the Principal Reduction Program (PRP) helps eligible homeowners who owe more than their home is worth by paying down the principal balance of their mortgage in order to allow for a more affordable payment, and finally the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) which assists eligible homeowners who are undergoing a short sale or deed-in-lieu transition into affordable housing.  If you are experiencing a financial hardship and would like to meet with one of our certified counselors to assess your eligibility for any of the KYHC programs please call (805) 273-7800 to make an appointment.
