“I continue to live in my home which is the greatest happiness for me and my family. Thank you VCCDC!” – Adriana Gomez, VCCDC Home Preservation Client
After a decrease in hours at her job and the tragic loss of two family members, Adriana Gomez, felt lost and overwhelmed. Mrs. Gomez was always short on money and would have to come up with ways to earn extra income, such as holding car washes, just to make ends meet. She remembers the gut-wrenching feeling from always having to tell her 3 kids “no” when they asked for something because she just couldn’t afford it. After falling behind 2 months on her mortgage she decided to look for help and in September 2014 she found VCCDC through a referral from her lender. She worked with foreclosure prevention counselor, Albert Dominguez, who helped her gather all the necessary documents to submit a loan modification packet to her lender. Throughout the next 6 months Albert mediated on her behalf with the lender and worked to keep her documents updated at all times.
Finally in March 2015 Mrs. Gomez was granted a loan modification which lowered her payment and allowed her to finally have peace in her life again.
“Having my loan modified has brought many good changes to my family. We are now more calm paying a lower mortgage payment.”
Mrs. Gomez no longer has to find ways to come up with extra income because she can afford her mortgage payment once again. Now when her kids ask her for something she can enjoy their smile when she says “yes” and to her that is priceless.
