VCCDC HOSTS VIRTUAL WORKSHOP FOR HOMEOWNERS INTERESTED  IN GETTING UP TO $100,000 IN MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE

Homeowners can get information on the Keep Your Home California Program which offers several options for homeowners looking to prevent foreclosure.

Ventura County, CA – Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) will be hosting its first virtual workshop for homeowners who are interested in obtaining up to $100,000 in mortgage assistance through the Keep Your Home California (KYHC) Program.  The workshop will take place on Wednesday, August 17th from 6:00pm to 6:45pm and it can be accessed by going to www.virtualcounselingnetwork.org and clicking on “VCN Workshop Registration”).  The KYHC program offers several options for homeowners looking to prevent foreclosure including Unemployment Mortgage Assistance, Mortgage Reinstatement, and Principal Reduction.

This virtual workshop is part of VCCDC’s partnership with the Virtual Counseling Network (VCN) which aims to connect potential homebuyers and homeowners with VCCDC’s certified homeownership professionals who can provide information on homeownership counseling, financial counseling, foreclosure prevention programs, down payment assistance, first time homebuyer mortgages, and more. Clients will be able to hear, see, and interact with VCCDC’s Homeownership Specialists from the comfort of their own home (or wherever internet is available) through one-on-one counseling sessions and group workshops.

“We know that sometimes people cannot make it out to our workshops due to lack of transportation, issues with mobility, time constraints or other reasons so we hope by offering virtual workshops we can expand the number of people that we help educate” says Bertha Garcia, VCCDC’s Executive Director.

The Virtual Counseling Network is uses a unique and innovative new technology developed by the Orange County Housing Opportunities Collaborative (OC HOC), to transform and expand access to professional housing counseling services like those of VCCDC. The VCN has been in use in San Diego, Oceanside, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties since March 2013 and in Orange County since July 2014, through a generous grant from Citi Community Development. VCCDC is proud to be the VCN’s first partner housing counseling agency in Ventura County. “We are excited to partner with VCCDC to bring access to these vitally needed services to potential homebuyers and homeowners in Ventura County,” said Connie Der Torossian, OC HOC Program Manager.
