Free homeownership fair will be virtual on Saturday

The Ventura County Community Development Corporation will hold its eighth annual free homeownership fair for potential homebuyers on Saturday. 

The fair will be held virtually for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically, the event draws between 300 and 400 people each year. 

"What we've seen in this pandemic is that stable homeownership that you can afford is No. 1. Having a platform where people can go to obtain more information is crucial because you don't know what you don't know," said Alex Vega, the organization's director of lending services. 

"This allows you to make your decision based on multiple programs and products that many people don't even know are available. Down payment assistance is still not very common knowledge, so having a place to obtain this information will just make people more informed buyers."
