VCCDC Receives $225,000 to Help More Families Become Homeowners

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news about a partnership that’s helping more families in Ventura County move closer to the dream of homeownership.

As part of its 75th anniversary “Year of Giving”, Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) has made an additional $150,000 donation to Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC), and it’s all thanks to a generous matching program from the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLBank) of San Francisco.

Earlier this year, VCCU made a $75,000 contribution to VCCDC as part of their 75th anniversary “Year of Giving.” They then went one step further and applied for a match through FHLBank’s Member Matching Grant Program, which offers a 2-to-1 match for contributions to nonprofits like ours. That match turned their original donation into an amazing $225,000 in support!

“We’re proud to deepen our support for VCCDC through this incredible opportunity provided by FHLBank,” said Linda Rossi, president and CEO of VCCU. “Together, we’re not just celebrating our 75th year — we’re investing in the future of Ventura County by helping more families access the resources they need to achieve homeownership and financial stability.”

We celebrated this generous gift during a check presentation at our 13th Annual Ventura County Homeownership Conference on June 28th. This funding will help us reach even more individuals and families with the education, affordable lending options, and financial guidance they need to achieve homeownership.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is our ongoing partnership with VCCU. Their commitment to giving back, especially during their 75th year, is truly inspiring. Through their “Year of Giving” campaign, they’ve pledged $750,000 to support local nonprofits, and we’re proud to be among them.
