VCCDC Hosts the 13th Annual Ventura County Homeownership Conference

The 13th Annual Homeownership Conference hosted by the Ventura County Community Development Corporation (VCCDC) welcomed 256 attendees for a day filled with education, resources, and empowerment for local homebuyers. Held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at VCCDC’s headquarters located at 2231 Sturgis Road in Oxnard, the event delivered vital information and support to individuals and families working toward the goal of homeownership.

The conference featured seven educational sessions offered in both English and Spanish, covering topics such as the latest homebuying programs and tips, understanding credit, the homebuying process, and accessing down payment assistance programs. The sessions were designed to equip attendees with practical tools and guidance tailored to their stage in the homeownership journey.

One of the event’s highlights was VCCDC’s on-site Loan Center, where prospective buyers were pre-qualified for a total of $10.3 million in home loans. The conference also hosted 20 exhibitors, including lenders, real estate professionals, and HUD-certified Homeownership Specialist, offering valuable resources and support.

Feedback from attendees reinforced the event’s impact: a strong majority of those surveyed reported feeling more confident navigating the homebuying process after attending the conference.

“This event reflects our ongoing commitment to breaking down barriers to homeownership,” said Bertha Garcia, Executive Director. “We’re proud to create a space where people can gain knowledge, connect with resources, and take real steps toward building generational wealth through homeownership.”
